Chapter Five

It was a few days before Christmas and Izzy was out shopping with Joy. She had flown in las t night and even though he had no plans on hanging with her she invited herself.

“Ooh baby this is cute, who is for?” she asked about the Birkin bag he had picked up.

“For Simone.” She looked at him like he had two heads.

“Why are you buying gifts or your baby mama?” she asked with an attitude.

“Man chill out, Simone and I have a good relationship and it’s just a Christmas gift.” If she was acting like he’d hate to see her face when she saw all the other shit at his house for Simone and Azarah, not to mention the stuff he bought for her family. Over the years Simone’s family had become his and he wouldn’t trade that for nothing.

“Well where is my bag?”

“Man chill, we aint even been dating that long for me to be tricking on you like that.”

“Tricking on me? You act like I’m some random bitch you just met. Hell I was around before that bitch.”

“Look, I fuck with you the long way but don’t disrespect my baby mama. She doesn’t call you out yo name so give her the same respect.” Joy didn’t have anything else to say. She had no clue what is was about Simone, but it was pissing her off. When they were younger he didn’t want kids but here he was years later with a daughter and Joy couldn’t help but feel some type of way. This was supposed to be her life. Izzy was hers first, but Simone got everything she felt she was entitled to. Something had to be done about this chick and fast because Joy refused to lose Izzy a second time. She would kill before that happened.

Izzy dropped Joy off at the house while he finished his shopping. He was irritated with her plus he wanted to stop by and see his daughter and he wouldn’t dare disrespect Simone by bringing Joy to her house. Of course Joy had an attitude, but she was about call Simone. She had stolen her number from his phone and she had some words for her.

After Izzy walked out the door she grabbed her phone and called Simone.

“Hello?” Simone answered the unknown number.

“Hi, is this Simone?”

“Uh, yeah. Who is this?” she asked because some random female was on her line.

“This is Joy, Izzy’s fiancé, I don’t know what you and him got going on but I want to let you know it stops today. We’re getting married and I want you and to stop kicking it with him like he doesn’t have a bitch at home.”

“Well, Izzy’s bitch, don’t call my phone with that shit. Izzy and I share a daughter but that’s it. I don’t do disrespect well so make this your only time calling my phone bitch.” Simone hung up and called Izzy. She was beyond pissed.

“What up ma?” they hadn’t really spoke since they had sex last week.
